A PERSONAL BLOG ENTRY!!!

Hi guys!!!

As we have already read in class, we have learnt how to write a blog entry ...so now, it is your turn!!!

Bear in mind:

In a personal blog, we often use informal language, such as contractions, everyday expressions and informal punctuation, such as brackets, dashes, elipses, exclamation marks and emoticons.

A possible structure for your blog entry could be:

Paragraph 1:

• Place visited
• Who went

Paragraph 2:

• Places
• Activities

Paragraph 3:

• Opinion

Now guys is your turn...you have to write a personal blog entry about a day out including information about places you visited, the people you were with and your activities. You should also express personal opinions about the activities.

PROJECT: TEACHING OUR CLASSMATES!!!

Hi guys!!!

I realize that starting English lessons implies to review verbal tenses and I know you all are fed up with this idea that is why I plan a different way to deal with tenses and verbs. You will work in groups and each group will be the teacher during two weeks to explain the rest of the class how tenses work.

Here you are the groups: 

Group in charge of present simple and continuous is: (first and second week in October)

To deal with this project, we all follow some guidelines. You should be creative in order to make your classmates have fun with your explanations and all the stuff you will give to them to work with it

In your lessons' plans you should take into consideration these aspects:

• Verbal tense structure in affirmative, negative and interrogative.
• Uses of this verbal tense
• Activities to put in practise all you have learnt. 

Be creative in your explanations, involve your classmates to participate or to ask them some questions...when you plan your activities use different formats: internet, sheet, project....

Everything has to be explained in English. All members of the group will lead and speak in the explanations or activities and creativity will be considered to increase your final mark.

Take it seriously and be organized...this project is an important one for you all to review and refresh tenses in a different way.

Good luck guys...at the end you will share your impressions of being a teacher for a couple of weeks with me!!!

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL, NEW STUDENTS!!!

Hi everybody!!!

Here we are, together, to start a new year in our English lessons. I do not know your expectations for my subject but I realise that lots of students like you, are not able to talk in English for several reasons: they scare, they feel insecurity, they feel embarrassed or even a little bit ridiculous....This year, things are going to change...we will feel confident and impressed with yourselves. To achieve these goals just two rules to follow inside my classroom:

1-PARTICIPATE!!!
2-TO TALK PROPERLY, YOU WILL MAKE MISTAKES. You are not going to be penalized for talking incorrectly however you will be if you do not try your best.

I promise you all that this academic course will be an amazing adventure!!!

OUR LAST PROJECT: YOUR TRIP TO MALTA!!!

Hi guys!!!

This academic year is almost finished....time flies...but before finishing, Let´s plan our last project related to the adventure you are going to live in a week: your trip to Malta.


The only thing you must do during your trip is taking loads of pictures of the aspects or things that impressed you most.


When you come back from your trip you have to make a presentation no matter the frame and the format, the one you feel comfortable telling the rest of your classmates, the best moments of this trip and the things you learn or impressed you most or even the differences between this country and ours in terms of customs, traditions, food, timetable whatever you consider remarkable.

Deadline for this presentation: 5th June.

Have an unforgettable trip guys and enjoy a lot!!!

Let´s work with our reading: CLASSIC GHOST STORIES!!!

Hi guys!!!!!

By this time, you should have read the obligatory book for this year titled "CLASSIC GHOST STORIES" shouldn´t you???
In order to know if you have read it or not you must elaborate a brief and precise essay with the following stuff:

1-A glossary with the expressions you have learnt in each story.
2-A summary of each story.
3-Your opinion about the book
And finally,
4-You should invent another ending for each story.

This is an individual work and if you copy from your classmates you will be penalized at your final mark.

Deadline for this work: 27th April.

OUR PROJECT FOR THIS TERM: A BIOGRAFY

Hi everyone!!!

A new project is getting closer and closer.

Here you are some hints to deal with this individual project:

1. Choose an important person for you such as someone in your family. Someone that is still alive or someone who has died.
2. Make a postcard presentation of this person considering aspects such as:  EARLY LIFE, EDUCATION, ACHIEVEMENTS, DEATH. Deadline for this activity: 2nd February
3. Design a power-point presentation with the most important details to introduce his or her biography to the classroom, Deadline for this presentation: 27th March.

In this project I will evaluate not only your oral skills but also your writing.
